Dualchas, part of The Highland Council Education, Culture and Sport Service,
is based in Tigh na Sgire, Park Lane, Portree.
The Heritage Service gives access to detailed information on the history and culture of the locality through
the varied and extensive resource material it holds.
The collections comprise 10,000 photographs as well as maps,
postcards, documents, family and legal papers, and around 3,000 books.
For those with an interest in the distant past,
there are archaeological and landscape survey reports, sites and monuments records and some of the artefacts resulting
from local excavations.
We are open to visitors Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm (apart from lunchtime) or by ‘phone on 01478 613857. |
